Jess Mills is about to take the pop dance crossover scene by storm; with vocals that have a hint of Katy B and Delilah to them, alternative progressive house sounds and the ability to pull off silver jumpsuits meaning this Londoner will be setting Europe on fire this Summer. With plans to play a number of Summer festivals from Parklife to Secret Garden Party supporting the likes of Breakage and Leftfield, and with Ibiza Club appearances lined up Jess Mills could be the sound of the Summer. Her track 'Vultures' has already been remixed by rising star MJ Cole and Photek. Her latest track (the amazingly named) 'Live For What I'd Die For' has been produced by Breakage and endorsed by Annie Mac on her show this Friday and it is a stunning. Jess Mills, not to be confused with techno DJ Jeff Mills who I don't think could pull off a fur coat and leather pants quite like she can, may sound unfamiliar but she is no stranger to the UK charts. One time member of band His Girl Friday and the provider of vocals to hit song 'Fighting Fire.' Jess Mills has this dreamy, piercing voice that fits so perfectly with her niche; her wardrobe is probably already the envy of many and everything from the production of her tracks to their artwork is spot on. Her music has this sparse, operatic style to them as 'Silent Space' showcases, allowing her voice to convey a multitude of emotion and expression. This would make her perfectly fitting for a 90s trance track; but with Breakage at her helm her tracks are entirely modern, channeling Chase and Status, Katy B and Magnetic Man. With her catchy lyrics, gorgeous vocals and mystic dance crossover sounds I can easily see her becoming the next big thing, as her tracks would be equally fitting on the Radio One playlist as they would be on the dance floor. Here's hoping we see a lot more of Jess Mills, as there's not nearly enough pictures showing off her gorgeous hair and perfect eyebrows on the internet!
